PROGRAM
Turning Point employs a professionally trained and experienced staff familiar with a wide variety of behavioral, emotional, and academic problems.
Implementation of the program begins with an initial evaluation which is completed 30 days following admission. The evaluation provides a base line from which specific objectives and treatment plans are developed and implemented.
As members of the community, the residents are afforded the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational, recreational, and cultural programs. All residents attend public schools in the local community with staff providing supplementary and remedial academic assistance.
Turning Point is contracted with the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF). Through these contracts the State places youth at the agency.
Turning Point is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
GROUP HOME
The 13 room home for this program is located on the periphery of Pawtucket's business district. The primary objective is to provide residential services and treatment for adolescent males between the ages of 12 and 17 whose needs are not being met within their present environment, and who could benefit from an intimate living experience.
Any agency or individual interested in referring a youth is requested to submit a detailed social history, educational records, and results of any psychological or diagnostic testing to the Rhode Island Department of Children,. Youth, and Families.
SUPERVISED APARTMENT
The two floor, 12 room home is located in the Quality Hill District of Pawtucket. This independent preparedness program provides residential beds for adolescent males 16 years and older. This program bridges the gap between adolescence and productive adulthood.
Youths considered must display a history of emotional and behavioral stability. Current Turning Point residents (in the Group Home) will be given priority status.
ACTIVITIES





Youth at Turning Point are afforded the opportunity to





engage in numerous sporting, recreational, and





social activities. This includes participating in city-wide





sports leagues, attending college and professional





sporting events, going to movies and amusement parks,





participating in religious services of their choice, and





other activities of interest to the clients.'
